Topic: Education and Public Schools

Public schools (government funded), a school funded with tax revenue and administered by a government or governmental agency. India has the largest number of illiterates by far – with second placed China at 11 per cent. Even after sixty two years of independence, with 40 per cent of its population under 18 – India is now confronting the perils of its failure to educate its citizens, especially, the poor. India is a developing country. The main factor that made India a developing country is its educational wealth .Mostly 80% of the population depends on agriculture and out of it 60% is illiterate. Thus the basis of all these problems is illiteracy. It is a main factor that can bring an end to all these rising problems. Education is very important in the present day life. Only a literate person can now adjust with the development of society. When everyone becomes educated, problem of rising poverty gets decreased. In all aspects education is an important factor helping in bringing about changes in ourselves as human beings and also to the society. Getting educated makes man perfect and eligible. The new generations, especially, the girls need to be educated. There are some people around us who still do not let their girl children to go to school and get educated. All these old practices need to be removed. When a girl is educated she attains knowledge gains power this helps in her self development. When she has a family it gives a positive thinking and influences that family in various ways. When her kids grow, she makes them educated. When girls get educated, they become aware and it reflects in the upcoming generations of our country. Education makes us a true human being and a good citizen.

It is very truly said: ” Padhega India Tabhi To Badhega India”. But saying is not at all enough. We must take the right steps towards making our country well educated and self dependent. And all this is possible through only one means and that is only and only EDUCATION. The school is the building block of a child’s life. The government has given the right to read and write in the country, so none should be deprived of it. We all know the rich send their children to the best of the private schools and now a days, the poors are also doing the same even they have no means, they do not want their children to study in the government schools. This is because they are having a very wrong image of the public schools in their minds. The government is taking more and more steps to make each and every child literate. It imparts free and compulsory education to the children under the age of 14 years. The children studying under the government schools get free books. Even the children from the poorest families are given bags and uniforms in many of the schools. In many parts of the country, Food is also provided by them named ‘MID DAY MEALS’ in which a variety of meals is provided like sweet rice, dalia, puri-chhole etc. Now a day, facilities of Edusat is also there, especially in Haryana, for the better quality of education. In this, lessons are imparted to children of each and every class(1st-12th) through a variety of programmes. In Haryana, government is providing financial assistance to the children under minority class. All this is done to encourage and motivate the children as well as parents to send their children to the schools. Seminars are also held for the teachers to guide and teach the children in the best possible way. Teacher Pupil ratio is 1:40, same as in the private schools. Usually, poor families do not send their children to schools as the boys start doing work in some small shops and girls help their mothers in household work. This is all because of the major problem- POVERTY which creates a great hindrance in the education and is the root cause of child labor too.

Hence, it is very neccessary to make parents aware of the importance of the schools and the education to have a healthy wealthy educated Bharat! I request all of you to spread a word as it helps a lot.
